Ambassador of Poland to Pakistan, H.E. Maciej Pisarski, called on Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb at the Finance Division in Islamabad on Monday. The meeting centred on strengthening bilateral relations, expanding trade and investment, and exploring new avenues of cooperation between Pakistan and Poland.
Ambassador Pisarski expressed condolences over the loss of lives and damage caused by recent floods, praising Pakistan’s rescue and relief efforts. He informed that Poland plans to send a high-level delegation, led by senior political leadership, to Pakistan soon to further advance bilateral engagement.
Highlighting Poland’s existing investment of over US$100 million in Pakistan’s oil and gas exploration sector, the Ambassador underscored his country’s interest in reinvesting locally generated resources and enhancing trade, which currently exceeds US$1 billion. He also identified opportunities for collaboration in knowledge transfer, technical training, regulatory reforms, and public finance management.
Minister Aurangzeb welcomed Poland’s intent to deepen economic ties and expand investments. He appreciated Poland’s role as a reliable partner and briefed the Ambassador on the government’s flood relief operations, ongoing damage assessments, and long-term rehabilitation plans. He also noted Pakistan’s openness to cooperation in mining, oil and gas, information exchange, and technical know-how.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening Pakistan–Poland ties and working together on mutually beneficial projects across multiple strategic sectors.
