The government unveiled a plan to move oil supply from road transport to pipelines, aiming to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
Diesel currently depends entirely on road transport, while 60% of petrol is transported by tankers. Phase one will lay a pipeline from Faisalabad to Tahlian.
A tracking system will monitor fuel movement to curb illegal supply. Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik emphasized sector reforms, stabilized gas prices, and resolving payment issues of oil marketing companies.
