Pakistan has completed a major nationwide child vaccination campaign, covering over 33 million children in measles-rubella (MR) and oral polio vaccine (OPV), achieving over 95% MR coverage, the Ministry of National Health Services reported on Monday.
The campaign reached all provinces and regions, including remote and high-risk areas, through school-based vaccination, community outreach, and door-to-door mobilization.
Officials highlighted strong coordination across national, provincial, and district levels, enabling most provinces to surpass MR targets, while OPV uptake remained consistently high. Over 284,000 vaccination sessions were monitored for quality, with 98% reporting compliance.
Pakistan’s final polio vaccination drive of the year will run from December 15–21, targeting over 45 million children nationwide.
