Pakistan and China have agreed to enhance civil aviation ties by encouraging airlines from both countries to launch new direct routes and expand existing flights. The decision is part of the China-Pakistan Action Plan (2025–2029), signed recently in Beijing.
The plan highlights civil aviation as a priority sector within broader people-to-people exchanges. Officials stressed that improved connectivity will reduce travel time and provide smoother movement for business communities, students, tourists, and professionals.
According to the plan, the initiative is designed to complement cooperation in education, culture, tourism, and trade. By strengthening air travel links, the two countries aim to make exchanges more convenient and meaningful.
The expansion of flight routes also ties into ongoing projects under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and broader regional integration efforts. Officials noted that greater air connectivity will not only support economic and cultural cooperation but also deepen bilateral engagement at multiple levels.
With direct flights expected to grow in number and frequency, Pakistan and China are looking to create stronger people-to-people ties that align with their long-term partnership goals.
