In the early hours of Saturday, a rocket targeted the home of Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Tribal Affairs, MNA Mubarak Zeb, located in Bajaur, police reported.
Just last month, police had confirmed that an improvised explosive device (IED) went off outside the same residence, causing partial damage to the structure.
Bajaur District Police Officer (DPO) Waqas Rafique told Dawn.com that a rocket had been fired at the lawmaker’s house.
However, he noted that the rocket hit a neighboring residence instead, damaging its walls and gate.
MNA Mubarak Zeb also acknowledged the attack in a post on X (formerly Twitter), confirming that no one was hurt. DPO Rafique also affirmed there were no casualties.
The police chief said this marked the second attack on Zeb’s residence in two months. He added that a search operation is currently underway to locate and apprehend the perpetrators responsible for the rocket attack.
Earlier in the week, a mortar shell fired from across the Afghan border struck a house in Bajaur’s Salarzai tehsil, killing one man and injuring two women, according to police and local residents.
