The Mohmand Dam Hydropower Project and its contractor, CGGC-DESCON JV, organised a breast cancer awareness event on October 20 under the theme “Protecting Women’s Health, Strengthening China-Pakistan Friendship.”
The event brought together female employees from China and Pakistan for health education, discussions and cultural exchange. It aimed to raise awareness of breast cancer, encourage early screening and highlight the importance of women’s health.
Health Expert Highlights Early Detection
Dr. Shumaila Naseer of Pak Medical Center & Hospital delivered a presentation on breast health, breast cancer prevention and the importance of early detection.
Using everyday examples, she shared practical advice on maintaining good health and explained key information about breast cancer risks and possible warning signs.
The session also highlighted when women should seek medical advice and why timely assessment of concerning symptoms is important.
Chinese and Pakistani Employees Participate
Female employees from both countries took part in discussions and shared their experiences, creating an opportunity to exchange knowledge and raise awareness of women’s health issues.
The Pink Ribbon-themed initiative combined health education with people-to-people engagement at the hydropower project.
Promoting Health Awareness and Friendship
The event reflected the project’s efforts to bring Chinese and Pakistani employees together through activities beyond their daily work.
By focusing on breast cancer awareness and early detection, the initiative sought to encourage informed health decisions while strengthening mutual understanding and friendship between the two countries.
