Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has directed a strict crackdown against money-laundering mafias, warning that hawala-hundi operations will not be tolerated. The orders were issued during a visit to the FIA Karachi Zone.
Naqvi instructed authorities to trace money trails of major offenders, take visible action against human smuggling agents, and prosecute those involved in counterfeit medicines. He emphasized the need for FIA officers to improve performance with full resources.
Over the past four months, 20 human smugglers were arrested and goods worth Rs140 million seized. A Facilitation Center has been established at Karachi Airport for passengers’ convenience, and performance reports from FIA officers were reviewed to ensure stricter enforcement.
