Gwadar University has inaugurated the “Iqbal Corner” at its central library, marking a milestone in promoting the philosophy of Allama Muhammad Iqbal. The initiative aims to inspire students and scholars in Gwadar, the strategic port city and flagship hub of CPEC, to engage deeply with Iqbal’s intellectual legacy.
The opening ceremony was chaired by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir and attended by notable academics, including Dr. Abdul Rauf Rafiqi from Iqbal Academy Pakistan and Prof. Dr. Muhammad Saleem Mazhar of the National Language Promotion Department. Representatives from Allama Iqbal Open University, Turbat University, and other institutions also participated.
The Iqbal Corner will provide resources and opportunities for research, academic excellence, and intellectual development. Speakers highlighted its role in strengthening national languages, fostering scholarship, and connecting Iqbal’s vision of an awakened East to contemporary educational initiatives in Pakistan’s southern regions.
