The fifth round of Pakistan-China consultations on multilateral issues took place today in Beijing.
Pakistan’s delegation was headed by Ambassador Nabeel Munir, Special Secretary at the UN, while the Chinese delegation was led by Shen Bo, Director General of the Department of International Organizations and Conferences at China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Both sides engaged in detailed discussions on a wide range of issues concerning the United Nations, with a particular focus on regional and global peace and security matters currently on the UN Security Council’s agenda.
They expressed satisfaction over the strong alignment of their positions on key issues and reaffirmed their commitment to jointly strengthen multilateral platforms, especially the United Nations.
In a separate meeting on the sidelines, Ambassador Nabeel Munir also met with China’s Vice Foreign Minister Miao Deyu.
Both sides highlighted the strength of the Pakistan-China strategic partnership and conveyed their mutual determination to deepen this historic relationship and elevate it to even greater levels of cooperation.
