President Asif Ali Zardari’s visit to Kashgar marked a significant moment in deepening the Pakistan-China partnership. Attending a dinner hosted by Xinjiang Vice Governor and Communist Party Secretary of Kashgar, Nie Zhuang, the President used the occasion to highlight growing cooperation between the two nations.
In his remarks, Zardari expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality and admired the rapid progress he witnessed in Chinese cities. He shared that the energy and warmth of the Chinese people gave him a renewed sense of positivity. He also praised President Xi Jinping’s visionary leadership, which has transformed China into a global economic power.
Building on this spirit, Nie Zhuang reaffirmed Kashgar’s commitment to strengthening ties with Pakistan. He stressed that the centuries-old cultural and historical bonds between Kashgar and Pakistan provide a strong foundation for expanding trade, cultural exchange, and people-to-people linkages. This emphasis once again reflected the importance of deepening Pakistan-China partnership at every level.
Adding diplomatic weight to the event, Senator Saleem Mandviwalla, Pakistan’s Ambassador to China Khalil Hashmi, and Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong also attended. Their participation reinforced the idea that the partnership is not only political but also deeply rooted in shared history and forward-looking cooperation.
