BEIJING, Oct. 18 – A Decade of Global Impact: Multilingual Edition of ‘Xi Jinping on the Belt & Road’ Unveiled
The Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping a decade ago, has not only captured the world’s attention but has also become a catalyst for international cooperation and global development. To mark the 10th anniversary of the BRI, a momentous event was held in Beijing, where a multilingual edition of the book titled “Xi Jinping on the Belt and Road” was formally unveiled.
This significant event, organized by the Information Office of the State Council and the China Foreign Language Bureau, with the key involvement of the Foreign Language Publishing House, brought together over 100 distinguished guests. Among them were diplomats from Belt and Road partner countries, experts, scholars, and representatives from the translation and publishing sectors. The launch ceremony was hosted by Gao Anming, the Vice President of China International Communications Group.
The multilingual edition of “Xi Jinping on the Belt and Road” is a testament to the global impact of the BRI. It includes writings by President Xi Jinping dating back to 2013 and has been published in Arabic, Spanish, Portuguese, German, and Japanese editions. The book features more than 40 speeches and writings by President Xi, covering the period from September 2013 to July 2018. It effectively illustrates the concept of connecting the hearts and minds of the world through the BRI. Over the past decade, the Belt and Road Initiative has transitioned from being a mere concept to tangible actions.
