CSC Peshawar Launches Free Chinese Language Course for School Students
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

October 7, 2023 – The China Study Centre (CSC) at the University of Peshawar (UoP) is breaking down language barriers and fostering cultural exchange by offering a free-of-cost Chinese language course specially tailored for school-going children.

Recognizing the immense advantage of acquiring language skills at a young age, this pioneering initiative aims to provide accessible and comprehensive language education opportunities for students who wish to embark on a linguistic journey to learn Chinese.

The program targets students in grades 6th to 10th, offering them a unique opportunity to learn the Chinese language, specifically focusing on the one-month-long HSK1 course. This Chinese language course has been thoughtfully designed, keeping in mind the specific needs and learning preferences of young learners. “The course is entirely free of charge for school-going children,” stated Farooq Jamal, an official from CSC University of Peshawar. He further added that the course is scheduled to commence in November, opening doors to a world of linguistic exploration for young minds.

In addition to this exciting initiative, CSC at UoP has also announced new admissions for its Chinese language courses, including HSK1, HSK2, and HSK3. These courses are strategically designed to cater to students aspiring to pursue higher education in China, particularly in fields like MBBS and Engineering. These language courses serve as preparatory programs, equipping students with the necessary language proficiency and cultural understanding for a smooth transition to Chinese universities.

To encourage more students and employees of UoP to take advantage of this valuable opportunity, an exclusive offer has been extended. UoP students and employees can enroll in the courses at a significantly reduced rate of Rs 1,000, as opposed to the regular fee of Rs 6,000 for the program.

The introduction of this free Chinese language course for school students, along with the preparatory language courses, exemplifies the University of Peshawar’s commitment to promoting educational and cultural ties between Pakistan and China. By making language learning accessible to a wider audience, especially young learners, UoP is contributing to the development of linguistic skills and fostering greater understanding and cooperation between the two nations.

This initiative not only opens doors to educational opportunities but also paves the way for cultural exchange and cross-border collaborations. It reflects the shared vision of Pakistan and China in strengthening their partnership, not only in trade and infrastructure but also in education and people-to-people connections.
