Balochistan, Pakistan’s largest province by area, has long faced challenges like poor infrastructure, unemployment, and limited access to markets. CPEC has opened a new chapter, offering hope and driving economic and social development for the province.
The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor is more than a collection of projects; it is a vision for regional connectivity. By improving infrastructure and creating opportunities, CPEC is integrating Balochistan into national and regional trade networks, connecting Pakistan to Central Asia and the Middle East.
One of CPEC’s flagship achievements is the development of Gwadar Port. Once a small fishing town, Gwadar now serves as a deep-sea port, connecting Pakistan to global trade routes and reducing dependency on Karachi and Port Qasim. The port is creating jobs and attracting local and foreign investment.
The Gwadar Free Zone, with its tax exemptions and business-friendly facilities, is being developed in two phases. Phase 1 is completed, while Phase 2 focuses on industrial innovation and expansion, with a $285 million BOT investment attracting industries like logistics, fisheries, and warehousing.
