ISLAMABAD: A delegation from the Chinese Embassy in Islamabad visited the headquarters of The Daily CPEC and Pakistan Observer on Wednesday. The visit highlighted the importance of media cooperation in strengthening Pakistan-China relations. It also marked the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries.

The delegation included Ms. Zuang Xingyan, Head of the Press Section at the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China, and Mr. Yang Taofei. Mr. Faisal Zahid Malik, Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of Pakistan Observer, welcomed the guests along with senior management.

The reception also included Mr. Saud Faisal Malik, Chief Digital Officer of Pakistan Observer and CEO of The Daily CPEC, and Mr. Ebraheem Faisal Malik, Associate Editor. Moreover, both sides held a special cake-cutting ceremony to celebrate 75 years of Pakistan-China friendship.

Chinese Embassy Highlights Media Cooperation

During the meeting, both sides discussed ways to strengthen cooperation between Pakistani and Chinese media institutions. They also explored opportunities for better information exchange and stronger bilateral engagement.

Furthermore, the participants highlighted the role of responsible journalism in promoting Pakistan-China relations. They agreed on the importance of sharing accurate information about developments in both countries.

The proposed China-Pakistan Information Center (CPIC) in Islamabad also remained a key topic. The initiative aims to improve communication between Pakistani and Chinese media organizations. It will also promote cultural understanding and reliable information sharing.

In addition, the proposed center could help address misinformation through credible reporting. It may also create new opportunities for journalists and media institutions to work together.

CPEC 2.0 Opens New Avenues for Cooperation

The meeting also focused on the future of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). In particular, both sides discussed the next phase of cooperation under CPEC 2.0.

They highlighted several areas with strong potential for growth. These included industrial development, agricultural modernization, information technology and green energy. Infrastructure and employment generation also formed part of the discussion.

Moreover, CPEC 2.0 aims to expand economic cooperation beyond traditional infrastructure projects. Greater investment in productive sectors can support Pakistan’s economic growth. It can also create opportunities for local industries and businesses.

Mr. Faisal Zahid Malik appreciated China’s continued support for Pakistan’s development. He also reaffirmed Pakistan Observer’s commitment to promoting awareness of CPEC and bilateral cooperation.

Meanwhile, Ms. Zuang Xingyan reiterated China’s commitment to working closely with Pakistan. She highlighted the importance of implementing CPEC Phase II. Both countries aim to advance their shared development goals through continued cooperation.

Strengthening the Pakistan-China Strategic Partnership

The discussions also covered Chinese President Xi Jinping’s vision of building a community with a shared future for mankind. Both sides highlighted the importance of the Pakistan-China All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership.

Furthermore, Ms. Zuang Xingyan emphasized the lasting friendship between Pakistan and China. She noted that the relationship has remained strong despite changing regional and international circumstances. This partnership continues to support cooperation and mutual understanding.

Chinese Delegation Visits Pakistan Observer Departments

During the visit, the Chinese delegation toured various departments of Pakistan Observer. The guests reviewed its editorial operations, professional environment and digital media facilities.

They appreciated the organization’s contribution to responsible journalism. They also acknowledged its efforts to promote stronger Pakistan-China relations.

On the occasion, Mr. Faisal Zahid Malik presented a commemorative shield to Ms. Zuang Xingyan. The gesture reflected goodwill and appreciation between the two sides. He also reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to stronger engagement with Chinese media institutions.

75 Years of Pakistan-China Diplomatic Relations

Pakistan and China established diplomatic relations in 1951. Since then, both countries have expanded cooperation across economic, diplomatic, educational and cultural sectors. Today, CPEC remains a major part of their bilateral partnership.

The Chinese Embassy’s visit to The Daily CPEC further highlighted the importance of media engagement. Stronger institutional links can improve information sharing and public understanding. They can also encourage greater people-to-people connectivity.

As Pakistan and China celebrate 75 years of diplomatic relations, both countries continue to explore new areas of cooperation. In this regard, media engagement, economic collaboration and cultural exchanges can further strengthen their longstanding friendship.
