Chinese Consul General in Karachi Yang Yundong reaffirmed the enduring and “ironclad” friendship between China and Pakistan while addressing the 2026 Chinese New Year Media Reception, emphasizing that bilateral relations have grown stronger and more resilient over time.
Highlighting cooperation under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Version 2.0, the consul general praised Pakistani media for serving as a bridge between the two nations. He said journalists have played a key role in promoting understanding through coverage of high-level exchanges, development projects, and China’s progress in infrastructure, artificial intelligence, agriculture, and modernization.
Yang Yundong said 2026 is a milestone year as China and Pakistan mark 75 years of diplomatic relations. He noted that China’s upcoming 15th Five-Year Plan will focus on high-quality development, innovation, green transition, and Belt and Road cooperation, calling China-Pakistan friendship a vital strategic asset and urging continued media support to strengthen bilateral ties.
