Chinese companies donate relief supplies to flood-hit people in Bangladesh that is widely appreciated by the Bangladeshi government and local communities.

Chinese enterprises in Bangladesh have donated over 4.13 million taka to flood-affected areas and provided supplies worth around 6.19 million taka, totaling approximately 10.32 million taka (about 86,940 U.S. dollars) as of Sunday, with donations still continuing.

Recently, several regions in Bangladesh have been severely impacted by flooding, affecting millions of people. Chinese companies have stepped up by donating relief supplies to those affected, showcasing the strong friendship between China and Bangladesh.

China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation

On Sunday, China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) initiated a relief distribution program in the Feni, Noakhali, and Cumilla districts, aiding 600 affected families with food, drinking water, and other essentials.

Ke Changliang, chairman of CCECC Bangladesh Limited, stated that CCECC, a longstanding Chinese company in Bangladesh, has always been attentive to local needs and actively fulfills its social responsibilities. He emphasized that in the face of this disaster, CCECC remains committed to the spirit of “solidarity in adversity” and will continue to support the people of Bangladesh, further strengthening the ties between the two nations.

Since the flooding began, many Chinese companies and individuals in Bangladesh have contributed to the relief efforts.

The donation program has been widely appreciated by both the Bangladeshi government and local communities. A resident of Cumilla expressed gratitude, saying, “Chinese companies extended a helping hand during our most difficult time, and we will always remember this kindness.”

It shall be noted that Bangladesh has faced its worst flooding in years, with the death toll reaching 18 and nearly 5 million people affected across 11 of the country’s 64 districts, according to authorities on Saturday. (1 U.S. dollar equals about 120 taka)
