China successfully conducted a low-altitude demonstration flight test of the Long March-10 launch vehicle system at the Wenchang Space Launch Site, marking a key step in the country’s crewed lunar exploration program.
During the mission, the Mengzhou crewed spacecraft completed a maximum dynamic pressure abort test, successfully separating from the rocket before both the spacecraft capsule and rocket stage safely splashed down at sea.
Officials said the test verified rocket ascent performance, spacecraft safety systems, and recovery procedures, providing valuable engineering data for future crewed missions to the Moon.
