China remains committed to be a driving force in global connectivity, spokesperson stated while underlining the importance of China-Europe rail network.
A Chinese spokesperson stated on Friday that China remains committed to serving as a driving force for global connectivity.
Spokesperson Lin Jian noted that the China-Europe Railway Express now operates in 128 Chinese cities and connects to 229 cities across 26 European countries, as well as over 100 cities in 11 Asian nations, symbolizing China’s commitment to global connectivity through collaboration.
He made these comments in response to views that the China-Europe Railway Express has become a key driver of economic and trade cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
According to Lin, the China-Europe Railway Express—one of the flagship projects of the BRI—runs efficiently with departures every half hour or less, playing a vital role in boosting trade between Asia and Europe and promoting economic growth in participating BRI countries.
He added that projects like the China-Laos Railway, the new western land-sea corridor, and the ongoing construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway are improving cross-border logistics, increasing trade and personnel movement, and fostering industrial upgrades and closer value chain integration in partner nations.
Lin concluded by emphasizing that connectivity is a core pillar of the BRI, and China will continue to support inclusive, cooperative development to enhance global connectivity and deliver mutual benefits through its progress.
