From February 23 to 26, China’s PLA Southern Theater Command Navy conducted a routine patrol in the South China Sea, demonstrating its readiness to safeguard maritime security. The patrol focused on protecting strategic sea routes, maintaining stability in the region, and asserting China’s territorial sovereignty over its waters.
Senior Captain Zhai Shichen, spokesperson for the Southern Theater Command, said that the Philippines had involved outside countries in so-called joint patrols, which disrupted peace. He emphasized that the PLA’s vigilant operation prevented any external interference, ensured order, and strengthened China’s ability to respond to potential threats in the area.
The patrol underlines China’s continued commitment to upholding regional peace and stability while protecting its maritime rights and interests. By maintaining regular surveillance and readiness, the PLA aims to ensure that its territorial waters remain secure and that any actions threatening national sovereignty are effectively deterred.
