Chinese and Pakistani medical institutions signed a tripartite memorandum of understanding on June 5 to strengthen cooperation in healthcare, medical education and clinical innovation.
The agreement brought together Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou, Watim Medical & Dental College, Pakistan, and the China-Pakistan Medical Association during a signing ceremony held in Islamabad.
Partnership to Advance Medical Collaboration
Under the agreement, the three institutions will work together to expand academic collaboration and improve healthcare services. In addition, they aim to promote professional exchanges and strengthen cooperation in cancer care and medical development.
Representatives from all participating institutions attended the ceremony and highlighted the value of building long-term partnerships to improve healthcare outcomes.
Focus on Training and Capacity Building
The collaboration places strong emphasis on capacity building and professional development. Therefore, the institutions will organize training opportunities for faculty members, clinicians, researchers and students.
The programs will focus on modern cancer diagnosis, treatment approaches and healthcare management practices. Moreover, the initiative aims to strengthen clinical expertise and support knowledge exchange.
Expanding Research and Medical Innovation
The agreement also includes plans for joint conferences, seminars, workshops and webinars. Additionally, the institutions will promote continuing medical education activities to support professional growth.
At the same time, the partnership seeks to encourage technology transfer and create channels for sharing medical knowledge and innovation.
Strengthening China–Pakistan Healthcare Ties
Overall, the agreement reflects growing healthcare cooperation between Pakistan and China. As a result, both sides expect stronger institutional linkages and greater collaboration in medical education, research and patient care in the coming years.
