China, Germany pledge long-term, stable relations during a meeting between Chinese Foreign Minister and Foreign and Security Policy Advisor to the German Chancellor.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi held a meeting in Berlin with Gunter Sautter, Foreign and Security Policy Advisor to the German Chancellor, during which both sides agreed to advance the long-term, stable, and healthy development of China-Germany relations.
The two sides emphasized the importance of their comprehensive strategic partnership and acknowledged the steady and maturing nature of bilateral ties.
They committed to preparing thoroughly for upcoming high-level engagements, making effective use of mechanisms like government consultations and strategic dialogue. The goal is to enhance strategic communication and deepen mutual understanding to ensure continued progress in bilateral relations.
Additionally, both parties agreed on the importance of managing differences through constructive dialogue while expanding areas of mutually beneficial cooperation.
Wang Yi, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, noted that China-Germany relations carry regional and global significance. He expressed hope that Germany would play a positive role within the European Union to uphold the legitimate interests of both countries and jointly address global challenges.
