China Finalises V-Day Parade and Gala Preparations as the nation gears up to mark the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. A military official confirmed on Thursday that the large-scale parade is essentially ready, reflecting months of detailed planning and coordination.
The military parade, which will showcase China’s armed forces, is expected to be a central highlight of the commemorations. It will serve not only as a remembrance of past struggles but also as a demonstration of national strength and unity. The preparations involve synchronised drills, equipment checks, and security arrangements to ensure a smooth and dignified event.
In addition to the parade, a major cultural event will take place at the Great Hall of the People on the evening of September 3. The commemorative gala will include an art performance, the final rehearsals of which are currently underway, according to Vice Minister of Culture and Tourism Lu Yingchuan. This performance has been designed to blend music, dance, and storytelling to honour those who contributed to the War of Resistance and to highlight the broader global fight against fascism.
The gala will bring together senior Party and state leaders, veterans, decorated individuals, and citizens from various backgrounds. By including such a wide spectrum of attendees, the event aims to emphasise national pride, shared memory, and collective identity.
Observers note that the twin events – the parade and the gala – will not only pay tribute to history but also project China’s vision of peace, resilience, and unity to the international community. With China finalising V-Day Parade and Gala Preparations, the commemorations are expected to draw significant domestic and global attention.
