China has expanded its 240-hour visa-free transit policy, now including three additional ports: Guangzhou, Zhuhai’s Hengqin, and Zhongshan. With this addition, the total number of ports eligible for the policy rises from 60 to 65, allowing travelers from 55 countries to stay in China for up to 10 days without a visa, provided they travel onward to a third destination.
The visa-free transit program aims to facilitate short-term visits for tourism, business, and international collaboration. Besides the newly added ports, it also covers major transport hubs, including the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and the West Kowloon Station of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link. Travelers must meet certain requirements, including proof of onward travel, valid passports, and entry through one of the designated ports.
