China has strongly denounced the reported assassination of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. A spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry described the act as a serious breach of Iran’s sovereignty and a violation of fundamental principles of international relations.
The spokesperson stated that such an action undermines the purposes of the United Nations Charter and poses significant risks to regional stability. China reiterated its firm opposition to any act that escalates tensions or threatens the security of sovereign states.
Beijing called for an immediate end to military operations and urged all sides to exercise restraint. China emphasized the importance of dialogue and coordinated international efforts to restore peace and prevent further instability in the Middle East.
