China has expressed grave concern over Israel’s recent recognition of Somaliland as an independent state. The Chinese Foreign Ministry reaffirmed its firm opposition to the move, emphasizing Somalia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
A spokesperson stated that Somaliland’s status is an internal Somali matter, which should be resolved by the Somali people in accordance with their constitution. China also urged the Somaliland authorities to halt separatist activities and avoid collusion with external forces.
The Chinese response aligns with Somalia’s stance and that of regional organizations, including the African Union, Arab League, and OIC, which have strongly condemned Israel’s recognition, warning against external interference in Somali affairs.
