China champions digital education at 2025 global conference in Wuhan where the opening speech was delivered by Vice Premier.
The 2025 World Digital Education Conference began on Wednesday in Wuhan, located in central China’s Hubei Province. The event was inaugurated with a speech by Chinese Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang.
Vice Premier Ding, who is also a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Central Committee’s Political Bureau, emphasized that China places high priority on advancing digital education.
He noted that as China speeds up its journey to become a global leader in education, it will persist in driving digital transformation and the adoption of smart technologies within the education system.
Ding highlighted China’s efforts to establish a modern digital education framework that ensures equity, enhanced quality, greater intelligence, and lifelong learning opportunities for everyone.
He urged stakeholders to leverage the momentum of educational innovation in the intelligence era, strengthen international collaboration in digital education, and push forward the Global Digital Compact initiated by the United Nations.
Running until Friday, the 2025 World Digital Education Conference is themed “Education Development and Transformation: The Era of Intelligence.”
The opening session gathered more than 600 attendees, including domestic and international government officials, leaders of global organizations, university and school representatives, as well as academic experts and scholars.
