China has launched the China-BRICS New Quality Productive Forces Research Center, marking a new step in strengthening innovation-driven cooperation among BRICS countries. The inaugural meeting was recently held in Beijing, according to China’s Ministry of Science and Technology.
The center will operate under a “physical plus network” model, creating an international platform for research, policy dialogue, academic exchange and talent development. The initiative was first proposed by Chinese Premier Li Qiang at the 17th BRICS Summit in 2025.
Focusing on advanced productivity, green development and high-tech innovation, the center aims to support economic growth and shared prosperity among BRICS members by promoting scientific collaboration and industrial modernization.
