Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar announced that China has pledged humanitarian support for Pakistan’s flood-affected communities. Dar said the assurance came during his meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Islamabad on Wednesday.
Dar underlined that Beijing’s commitment reflects the strength of the Pakistan-China partnership, particularly in times of crisis, as Pakistan continues to face the challenges of climate-induced disasters.
Wang Yi, who is on a key visit to Pakistan, is also scheduled to meet Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir later today. The Chinese Foreign Minister will hold discussions on strategic cooperation, regional security, and ongoing development initiatives under CPEC.
The visit follows the Pakistan-China-Afghanistan trilateral talks in Kabul earlier in the day, where counter-terrorism cooperation and economic collaboration were also on the agenda.
Dar stressed that humanitarian relief for flood victims will remain a central component of Pakistan-China cooperation, alongside the broader agenda of economic and strategic engagement.
