Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar expressed concern over continued violations involving Al-Aqsa Mosque and Al-Haram Al-Sharif.
He made the remarks during a joint Arab League and Group of Four Islamic Countries ministerial meeting on Jerusalem in New York.
Pakistan Reaffirms Support for Jerusalem
Dar reiterated Pakistan’s support for the Hashemite Custodianship of Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
He also reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination. Furthermore, he backed the establishment of an independent and sovereign State of Palestine.
Pakistan’s stated position calls for a contiguous Palestinian state based on the pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
Dar Meets Jordanian Counterpart
Separately, Dar held a cordial meeting with Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister Ayman Safadi in New York.
The two officials discussed matters of mutual interest and regional developments. In addition, they reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening relations between Pakistan and Jordan.
Pakistan-Jordan Relations
The meeting provided an opportunity for both sides to exchange views on regional issues. It also highlighted continued diplomatic engagement between Pakistan and Jordan.
