The Qingyang International Communication Center was officially inaugurated on September 22, 2026, at the 9th Gansu Media Convergence Innovation and Development Forum in Qingyang, Gansu province. The launch gives the city a dedicated platform for reaching international audiences through its economic, cultural and technological strengths.
A New Platform for Qingyang’s Global Communication
The center will leverage Qingyang’s role in China’s “East Data, West Computing” initiative to build a network of overseas multimedia communication platforms and bring the city’s stories to audiences beyond China.
The initiative gives Qingyang a dedicated platform for presenting its development, culture and local identity to international audiences through a more focused communication strategy.
What the Center Will Do
The center’s core mandate is built around two-way international exchange. It will carry out international exchange activities and produce content across multiple platforms aimed at reaching audiences outside China, while also creating channels for international engagement with Qingyang.
The approach is intended to support sustained international exchange alongside outward-facing communication.
Computing Power, Culture and Ecology
The center’s content strategy is organized around three signature areas: computing power, culture and ecology.
These areas reflect key aspects of Qingyang’s development and identity, including its role in China’s western computing infrastructure, its cultural heritage and its ecological development.
The three themes will form the foundation of the center’s international communication efforts and help present Qingyang through stories that connect its economic development with its cultural and environmental strengths.
Bringing Qingyang’s Story to International Audiences
Through this three-part content strategy, the center will share Qingyang’s stories of industry, culture and ecology with international audiences.
The stated aim is to strengthen the global recognition and influence of the city brand “Vast Skies, Rich Land · Blessed Qingyang,” giving Qingyang a dedicated international platform for communicating its development and identity.
Pakistani Media Joins the Launch
Saud Faisal Malik, Founder and CEO of Pakistan’s The Daily CPEC, was invited to take part in the launch of the Qingyang International Communication Center, representing Pakistani media at the event alongside Chinese government, media and industry figures.
His participation came during the same forum where The Daily CPEC separately signed a media partnership with Gansu Daily Newspaper Group, with the two developments forming part of a broader programme of media cooperation.
A Dedicated Voice for Qingyang Abroad
With its inauguration, the Qingyang International Communication Center has a defined mandate to strengthen the city’s international communication through focused coverage of computing power, culture and ecology.
The center will use Qingyang’s position in the “East Data, West Computing” initiative as one of the key themes through which it presents the city to international audiences, while highlighting its cultural and ecological identity.
Its establishment gives Qingyang a dedicated platform for sharing its development story beyond China and expanding international awareness of the city.
