The Gwadar Development Authority (GDA) has completed a new sports ground in Gwadar. The facility aims to provide football and volleyball players with better sporting facilities.
The ground includes spacious playing areas, seating for players and spectators, a pavilion, lighting, and other essential amenities. These facilities will give local youth a better environment for sports activities.
GDA Plans Further Sports Development
GDA Director General Moeen-ur-Rehman Khan said the Authority had already finalized plans to improve several sports facilities in Gwadar.
The plan covers the construction, expansion, and renovation of Senator Muhammad Ishaq Cricket Stadium, Baba Bizenjo Football Stadium, and Sorg Dil Football Ground.
Moreover, the Director General directed the relevant department to support the upcoming Sports Festival. He also ordered officials to complete preparations on time and maintain the ground in good condition.
Facilities for Local Players
GDA will also provide players with the necessary facilities during sporting events. The initiative aims to encourage greater participation among young athletes.
In addition, better sports infrastructure can create more opportunities for football and volleyball players in the city.
Inspection of Volleyball and Futsal Ground
Later, Moeen-ur-Rehman Khan visited the Young Jan Volleyball and Futsal Ground. He reviewed the construction, expansion, and renovation work completed by GDA.
Project Director of the Old Town Rehabilitation Project Mir Doda Khan Marri also attended the visit. Political and social figure Mir Arshad Kalmat, who is President of the District Football Association, was present as well.
Preparations for Sports Festival 2026
Officials also reviewed preparations for the Mir Kalmat Inter-Educational Institute Sports Festival 2026. The event is scheduled to take place at the Young Jan Volleyball and Futsal Ground over two days.
As a result, the newly improved facilities are expected to support a better experience for participating students and athletes.
Boosting Sports in Gwadar
The completion of the new sports ground marks another step toward improving recreational facilities in Gwadar. It also reflects GDA’s focus on developing spaces that encourage young people to participate in sports.
