Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif held informal interactions with several world leaders on the sidelines of the 26th Summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO).
The meetings took place in Bishkek in a warm and cordial atmosphere. Leaders discussed key bilateral, regional, and international issues.
Meetings with Key World Leaders
Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin were among the leaders who interacted with Prime Minister Shehbaz.
The meetings also included Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian.
In addition, Prime Minister Shehbaz interacted with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon, and Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
Warm Welcome in Bishkek
Earlier, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Nurgozhoevich Zhaparov warmly welcomed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif upon his arrival at the summit venue.
The two leaders exchanged a handshake before the formal proceedings began.
Leaders Gather for SCO Summit
Prime Minister Shehbaz later joined other participating leaders for a group photograph.
The gathering brought together leaders from the SCO’s 10 member states. The formal summit proceedings followed the group photo.
Strengthening Regional Engagement
The informal interactions provided an opportunity for leaders to exchange views beyond the formal summit agenda.
Moreover, the meetings highlighted Pakistan’s active diplomatic engagement with major regional partners at the SCO platform.
