Pakistan has officially started exporting vehicles to Bangladesh under a new trade agreement aimed at expanding bilateral economic cooperation and boosting business-to-business partnerships.

The agreement marks a significant step for Pakistan’s automotive industry as it enters the Bangladeshi market with locally manufactured vehicles.

100 Vehicles Planned This Year

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between MG JW Automobile Pakistan and RANCON Group of Bangladesh to facilitate vehicle exports.

According to Pakistan’s Ministry of Industries and Production, Pakistan plans to export 100 vehicles to Bangladesh during the current year.

Furthermore, total exports are expected to reach 5,800 vehicles over the next four years.

Boost for Bilateral Trade

The agreement aims to strengthen trade and economic ties between Pakistan and Bangladesh.

Moreover, it is expected to encourage greater business-to-business cooperation and create new opportunities for private-sector collaboration.

The initiative also supports efforts to expand Pakistan’s export market beyond traditional destinations.

Benefits for Bangladesh’s Auto Market

RANCON Group Executive Director Muhammad Mostafizur Rashid Bhuiyan said the partnership would increase competition in Bangladesh’s automobile sector.

He added that consumers would benefit from a wider range of high-quality vehicles produced in Pakistan at competitive prices.

As a result, buyers are expected to have more choices in the local market.

Pakistan Welcomes the Agreement

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Industries and Production Haroon Akhtar Khan welcomed the agreement.

He expressed confidence that the partnership would strengthen economic relations between Pakistan and Bangladesh while opening new avenues for cooperation between businesses in both countries.

In addition, he said such initiatives can help increase trade and investment in the future.

Officials Attend Signing Ceremony

Senior officials from both companies, government representatives, and members of the business community attended the signing ceremony.

The agreement reflects growing commercial engagement between Pakistan and Bangladesh and highlights the potential for deeper cooperation in the automotive sector.
