Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has welcomed recent progress made by the Board of Peace toward implementing the disarmament process under the Gaza Peace Plan.
In a post on X, the prime minister said Pakistan views the latest developments as a positive step toward advancing peace and stability in Gaza.
Pakistan Appreciates Mediators
Shehbaz Sharif praised the efforts of the mediating countries, including the United States, Egypt, Qatar, and Türkiye.
Moreover, he said their diplomatic engagement played an important role in achieving the recent progress.
The prime minister also acknowledged the leadership of Donald Trump, describing the outcome as a significant achievement for the Board of Peace.
Calls for Full Implementation
Shehbaz Sharif expressed hope that the recent developments would lead to the implementation of all commitments under the Gaza Peace Plan.
Furthermore, he said Pakistan supports practical steps that promote peace, stability, and long-term security in the region.
Support for Palestinian Statehood
The prime minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination.
He said Pakistan hopes the ongoing efforts will result in a credible, time-bound political process consistent with international law and relevant United Nations resolutions.
In addition, he reiterated support for the establishment of an independent, sovereign, and contiguous State of Palestine based on the pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
Pakistan Reaffirms Peace Commitment
Pakistan has consistently supported diplomatic efforts aimed at achieving a peaceful resolution to the Palestinian issue.
Consequently, the government welcomed the latest progress and expressed hope that continued dialogue would contribute to lasting peace in the region.
