Gwadar Development Authority has launched several development projects under the Old Town Rehabilitation Plan in Gwadar.
Moin-ur-Rehman Khan and Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman jointly inaugurated projects at Shaheen Chowk, B&R Chowk, Hospital Road, Thana Ward, and B&R Link Road. Officials also unveiled inauguration plaques at key locations during the ceremony.
Senior officials, engineers, and local representatives attended the event. Their presence highlighted the importance of the project for the city’s development.
Speaking at the occasion, Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman explained that these areas previously faced severe waterlogging after rainfall. However, recent development work has significantly improved conditions. As a result, the areas now remain cleaner and more accessible even after rain.
He further stated that the improved drainage system has already shown positive results. In addition, authorities will soon start development work in TTC Colony, Bakhshi Colony, Shambay Ismail Ward, and nearby areas. This expansion will ensure uniform progress across the old town.
Meanwhile, Moin-ur-Rehman Khan emphasized that GDA continues to develop Gwadar in line with its master plan. Alongside new projects, the authority is upgrading older residential areas. Work includes road construction, street expansion, and improvements in drainage and sewerage systems.
Overall, the Old Town Rehabilitation Plan is transforming Gwadar’s urban infrastructure. It also reflects a broader effort to modernize the city while improving living conditions for residents.
