Telecom companies have activated more than 300 5G sites in Pakistan, covering key areas in Islamabad, including the Red Zone, Blue Area, and Parliament Lodges. Jazz has activated 180 sites, while Zong brought 150 online, with Ufone expected to follow after importing required 5G equipment.
The rollout includes early 5G access for 2,254 devices across 103 mobile brands. Full 5G functionality will depend on upcoming software updates from Apple, Samsung, and other manufacturers. Telecom operators are also required to update coverage details on official websites.
PTA officials noted that stabilizing the 5G network may take around two years as deployment continues nationwide. Improvements in 4G services are also expected, and shipments of 5G equipment in the coming months will further enhance connectivity and speed.
