Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong in Islamabad to discuss bilateral cooperation and progress on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). The meeting focused on accelerating development under CPEC Phase II.
Both sides agreed to fast-track work on the second phase of the project, with emphasis on agriculture, industrial development, and infrastructure. The prime minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening its strategic partnership with China.
The Chinese envoy appreciated Pakistan’s economic resilience and reiterated China’s support for expanding cooperation in trade and investment. Both countries also expressed satisfaction over ongoing engagements as they mark 75 years of diplomatic relations.
