The first Stator for Generator Unit No. 4 of Suki Kinari Hydropower Project was successfully hoisted on September 8. 2021. The total lifting weight reached 265 tons.
This Unit is the first of Suki Kinari’s four generator units that has completed the Stator hoisting. After the hoisting, constructors will spare no efforts to finish the follow-up work of Unit No. 4, including hoisting of the stator winding and rotor.
They plan to put all four units into operation in the second half of 2022. This 870MW run-of-the-river hydropower project is expected to provide 3,081 million GWh clean electricity annually to the national grid by 2022.
Suki Kinari project is one of the highest priority early harvest projects within the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). This project was invested by China Gezhouba Group with a majority stake of 98%.
Being built on a build-own-operate-transfer (BOOT) basis, the project being built on a build-own-operate-transfer (BOOT) basis will be handed over to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, upon completion of 30 years of operations.
