Pakistan has raised $507 million in the first stage of its 5G spectrum auction, according to the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA). The auction included multiple spectrum bands, helping increase overall spectrum availability and supporting faster deployment of mobile broadband services.
Telecom operators participated actively, with Jazz acquiring 190 MHz, Ufone securing 180 MHz, and Zong taking 110 MHz. The sale of these bands marks a critical step in expanding Pakistan’s digital infrastructure and enhancing connectivity across the country.
Officials highlighted that the auction was conducted live to ensure transparency, with strong participation reflecting confidence in Pakistan’s digital agenda. The newly allocated spectrum is expected to improve mobile broadband capacity and accelerate nationwide 5G adoption, bringing advanced digital services to businesses and consumers alike.
