China has intervened diplomatically to help resolve escalating tensions along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. Special Envoy Yue Xiaoyong met Taliban acting Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi in Kabul to discuss security concerns and bilateral cooperation between the two nations.
During the talks, China emphasized the importance of dialogue and peaceful engagement to prevent further escalation. Beijing is coordinating with both Islamabad and Kabul to promote stability and maintain regional security along the border.
The intervention comes amid ongoing cross-border clashes, including Pakistan’s counter-terrorism operations targeting militant groups in Afghanistan. While Pakistan cites security threats from these groups, the Taliban stresses defending its territory and resolving disputes peacefully. China’s mediation highlights its growing role in maintaining stability and protecting regional interests.
