Pakistan and China are preparing to start formal talks this month to expand their bilateral workforce skills partnership. The initiative aims to train youth with modern, globally relevant technical skills to meet evolving international labor market demands.
The move follows recognition from China’s CIIC Group of NAVTTC Chairperson Gulmina Bilal Ahmed for her role in establishing joint skills certifications. Earlier programs, including Chinese welding certifications, have successfully trained Pakistani youth, equipping them with industrial skills aligned with international standards.
During the pilot phase from October to December 2025, 25 Pakistani welders completed training and secured employment with Chinese firms operating in Pakistan. The upcoming phase, beginning in March 2026, aims to introduce additional international trade certifications, broadening technical skills and opening more opportunities for Pakistani youth locally and globally.
