Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and reaffirmed Beijing’s unwavering support for Pakistan’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and socio-economic development. Both sides underscored the strength of the all-weather strategic cooperative partnership between Islamabad and Beijing.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif described the Pakistan-China relationship as one built on deep mutual trust and ironclad friendship. He appreciated China’s consistent backing, particularly under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), calling it a flagship project of the Belt and Road Initiative and a key pillar of bilateral cooperation.
The meeting focused on accelerating ongoing CPEC projects and expanding collaboration in agriculture, information technology, mining, and minerals. The prime minister assured a secure and conducive environment for Chinese personnel and investments, while both sides agreed to maintain close coordination on regional and international matters to promote peace and stability.
