The Gwadar Development Authority is considering a project to solarize its main office building as part of efforts to reduce electricity costs and adopt renewable energy sources. The proposal was reviewed during a meeting chaired by senior officials.
According to the briefing, the building’s electricity demand is approximately 180 kilowatts. A hybrid solar system is under consideration, with an estimated project cost of about 50 million Pakistani rupees, aimed at reducing reliance on grid electricity and generators.
Officials stated that the move would ensure uninterrupted power supply while lowering long-term operational expenses. A comprehensive technical and financial analysis covering projected savings over five to ten years will be prepared before final approval.
