Pakistan marked a significant achievement in its space program with the successful launch of the EO-2 satellite from China’s Yangjiang Space Centre. Developed by Suparco, EO-2 is the country’s second indigenous Earth Observation satellite, designed to provide high-resolution imaging and critical data for national development.
The satellite will support environmental monitoring, urban planning, natural resource management, and disaster preparedness. By delivering accurate and timely imagery, EO-2 will help improve governance, climate analysis, and strategic decision-making across Pakistan.
This launch expands Pakistan’s satellite fleet, ensuring improved continuity, coverage, and precision for Earth observation missions. Suparco officials emphasized that EO-2 reflects growing technical expertise, self-reliance in advanced space technology, and the ability to develop domestically engineered satellite systems.
