Pakistan’s Airport Authority has started constructing a modern air-cargo building at New Gwadar International Airport (NGIA), a key part of the airport’s master plan to boost goods movement domestically and internationally.
The facility is designed to manage containerised and oversized cargo while integrating automation, AI systems, and real-time shipment tracking. Officials say it will offer smart, secure, and sustainable operations with improved efficiency and asset utilization.
This initiative comes amid a broader transformation of Pakistan’s air-cargo industry, aimed at addressing ageing infrastructure, rising trade volumes, and modern logistical demands, ensuring the country meets growing domestic and global trade requirements efficiently.
