Pakistan and Qatar have reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing defence and security cooperation during the second round of the Higher Military Cooperation Committee (HMCC) meeting in Doha.
Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, met Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs, Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, along with Qatar Armed Forces Chief, Lt General (Pilot) Jassim Mohammad Ahmed Al-Mannal.
Both sides held extensive talks on evolving regional security dynamics and agreed to strengthen collaboration for peace and stability at the regional and global levels.
General Sahir Shamshad highlighted the deep-rooted brotherly ties between Pakistan and Qatar, stressing the importance of future defence and security cooperation under the HMCC framework. Qatar’s civil and military leadership acknowledged Pakistan’s pivotal role in maintaining regional stability, appreciating the professionalism and sacrifices of Pakistan’s Armed Forces in the fight against terrorism.
Earlier, upon arrival at the Qatar Armed Forces Headquarters, General Mirza was presented with a Guard of Honour by a smartly turned-out military contingent.
The CJCSC’s visit underscores the mutual resolve of Pakistan and Qatar to deepen strategic ties and expand defence collaboration in multiple domains.
