The Afghan prime minister underscored that his government aims to rebuild after decades of war and foreign intervention. “Afghanistan will not create trouble for others and is focused on resolving issues, fostering development, and improving livelihoods,” Akhund said.
He added that Western narratives misrepresent Afghanistan, but the country is committed to pursuing stability and a positive relationship with China.
Wang Yi Reaffirms China’s Commitment
Chinese FM Wang Yi described Afghanistan as an “indispensable partner” in Beijing’s vision of a community with a shared future in the region. He reiterated China’s policy of respecting Afghanistan’s independence, traditions, and governance model, rejecting foreign interference and domination.
“Throughout history, invaders and hegemonists failed in Afghanistan, and such attempts will not succeed in the future,” Wang remarked, stressing equality, justice, and development for all countries.
Security Cooperation Against ETIM
Wang highlighted the importance of addressing security threats, particularly from the East Turkestan Islamic Movement (ETIM), a UN-listed terrorist group operating from Afghan soil. He urged Kabul to intensify efforts against ETIM, noting that strong security cooperation will be the foundation for future economic collaboration.
Wang also expressed confidence that under Afghan leadership, the country would achieve stability and revitalisation, serving its people better.
