The University of Sargodha (UoS) has signed two separate Letters of Intent (LOIs) with Chinese universities to strengthen cooperation in research, academic exchange, and digital education initiatives.
In a recent development, UoS signed an LOI with Nankai University, one of China’s top academic institutions, during a meeting held on the sidelines of the 2025 SCO Digital Economy Forum in Tianjin. The agreement was concluded in the presence of Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas, Vice Chancellor of UoS, and Prof. Dr. Chen Yulu, President of Nankai University.
As per a statement from UoS, both institutions agreed to work together on research projects, faculty exchange, and digital education programs. The exchange of souvenirs between the two leaders highlighted their mutual commitment to deepening academic ties.
Separately, the Pakistan Institute of China Studies at UoS signed an Intent of Cooperation (IOC) with the Centre for Pakistan Study at Jiangxi University of Science and Technology. The IOC was signed by Prof. Dr. Tahir Mumtaz Awan, Director of the Pakistan Institute of China Studies, and Prof. Cheng Yuan, Director of the Centre for Pakistan Study. The collaboration aims to enhance academic and cultural ties through joint research, faculty and student exchanges, and projects focusing on Pakistan-China relations.
