Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, visited Yangquan in Shanxi Province on Monday to honor the martyrs of a significant battle from China’s war of resistance against Japanese aggression.
At the monument square dedicated to the heroes of the Hundred-Regiment Campaign, Xi laid a floral basket in tribute and later toured the memorial hall that commemorates the historic battle.
During his visit, Xi reflected on the CPC’s leadership of both the military and civilians during the struggle against Japanese forces. He also learned about local efforts to preserve revolutionary history and promote the enduring spirit of resistance.
