Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a condolence message on Friday to King Charles III, expressing sorrow over the significant number of British casualties resulting from the crash of an Air India flight.
In the message, Xi conveyed his shock upon learning about the incident, which led to heavy loss of British lives.
Speaking on behalf of the Chinese government and people, Xi extended heartfelt condolences to the victims, expressed sympathy to the injured and the families affected, and wished those injured a speedy recovery.
Also on Friday, Chinese Premier Li Qiang offered his condolences to British Prime Minister Keir Starmer in a separate message.
